A video clip of sitting YSRCP Puthalapattu (SC) MLA M. Sunil Kumar, a doctor, who was reportedly not given a ticket and also an audience with party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy a couple of days ago on Saturday evening created a flutter, with the legislator in a sombre mood saying he would be ending his life.
The MLA in the six-minute video clip said he had great respect and love for Mr. Jagan “who gave me political life”. He said the words of some party leaders that he had lost the confidence of Mr. Jagan and that he was becoming closer to the TDP had bothered him a lot. He said as a doctor he was mentally strong but would not bear the accusations. He said he would not mind even if he did not get the ticket. The clip concluded that he took a decision to end his life. For about an hour, the clip made rounds prompting the media and the cops to trace him. The police despatched a team to his residence at Palamaner town. The Deputy SP (Palamaner) said the MLA’s spouse had been contacted. “The MLA was absolutely safe and was just emotional according to her,” he said.
Vikrant Patil, SP, told The Hindu that the cops were pursuing the matter and no harm would be allowed to happen to the MLA.
