A professional footballer-turned-model, Peter England Mister India Supranational 2017 Prathamesh Maulingkar is all set to represent India at Mister Supranational 2018 pageant in Poland. Before leaving for Poland, when enquired about his preparations for Mister Supranational 2018, he said, “It’s been a year that I’ve been sashed as the Mister Supranational India and it’s been going great. You know, I’ve been having trainings with every aspect, everything that I need to get trained in – speech, gym, lot of things and its going great.” Goa’s very own Prathamesh feels it is a great pride to represent India in a foreign land. “Everything about my country makes me proud. I am what I am, is because I am representing my country today. I am getting known and all the people like me because I am India’s representative today, and it’s such a proud feeling. I’ve done it on a different platform before, I’ve done it as a footballer I’ve played for India Under- 19 and Under-23 but, this is completely a different platform. But, the honor and the pride is the same, so, I feel proud, I feel really proud,” he said. When enquired what’s common between football and beauty pageant? Prathamesh quipped, “Oh, a lot of thing! There are a lot of things that are common between football and beauty pageant, like, focus, hard work and dedication are the most common things. But again, in both the professions one thing that matters is confidence that will set you apart and, your mental strength. You have to be mentally fit and strong to survive in both the professions. You have to be mentally fit.” Prathamesh Maulingkar is deeply passionate about fitness and runs his own gymnasium in Thivim, Goa.
